2024 FEALAC Youth Language & Culture Exchange Program (LCEP)
In 2019, at the 9th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in the Dominican Republic, the Santo Domingo Declaration was accepted. Under the declaration, member countries agreed to “identify inter-regional cooperation projects with voluntary participation, especially under the Working Group of Culture, Youth, Gender, and Sports (CYGS)”. In this context, Korea and the FEALAC Cyber Secretariat worked together in 2023 to launch FEALAC Youth Language & Culture Exchange Program (LCEP). The participating countries of 2023 are as follows: 2 from Brunei Darussalam; 4 from China*; 5 from Indonesia; 7 from Korea**; 2 from Myanmar; 2 from Argentina; 2 from Suriname. * Two youth delegates were nominated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and additionally, two Chinese FEALAC Supporters affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea joined. ** Every Korean youth delegate is a participant in the FEALAC Supporters Program, which is a national initiative led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea. The program aims to foster stronger links and solidarity between all member countries by promoting public and cultural diplomacy, as well as people-to-people exchange. The primary objective of this program is to enhance cultural understanding among the youth of FEALAC member countries in East Asia and Latin America. To ensure the project’s objectives, we kindly request each FEALAC member country to recommend one to two university students who can participate in the program. The youth participants will have the opportunity to engage in immersive cultural experiences, interact with their counterparts from different countries, and develop a broader perspective of the FEALAC community. Through activities such as language learning, and cultural workshops, the project aims to facilitate meaningful connections and lasting friendships among the youth of East Asia and Latin America.

2024 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better SPCSDCC Connection
In commemoration of FEALAC Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea and the FEALAC Cyber Secretariat are hosting the '2024 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better SPCSDCC Connection,' following the success of the '2023 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better TITM Connection.' This idea contest involves FEALAC Young Leaders (FEALAC Supporters), who have dedicated their efforts to enhancing the visibility of FEALAC both domestically and internationally. They have studied a range of cooperative initiatives and case studies from FEALAC member countries. This year holds special significance as they strive to identify methods to strengthen SPCSDCC cooperation projects for both East Asian and Latin American countries. At the 9th Foreign Ministers' Meeting in the Dominican Republic, greater visibility for FEALAC was identified as a key need, as stated in the Declaration on "Strengthening the Institutional Framework of FEALAC". In response, the Republic of Korea and the Cyber Secretariat developed a Public Relations Program aimed at increasing FEALAC's visibility in Korea. These efforts build on the FEALAC Supporters Program that was launched in 2019 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of FEALAC. Comprised mainly of undergraduate and graduate students interested in FEALAC and the two regions, East Asia and Latin America, the FEALAC Supporters have organized various public relations events to introduce FEALAC to the Korean public. Korea aims to enhance FEALAC's visibility in the country and inform a wider audience about FEALAC's significance for Korea's foreign policy by actively using online platforms. To achieve this goal, Korea and the Cyber Secretariat have established popular social media accounts, such as a blog channel, Instagram, and YouTube, as part of the FEALAC Supporters Program.

In commemoration of FEALAC Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, in its capacity as the Co-chair of the TITM Working Group (Trade, Investment, Tourism, MSMEs), is hosting the event titled '2023 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better TITM Connection,' in collaboration with the FEALAC Cyber Secretariat. The primary objectives of this event are to hear the voices from the FEALAC youth for revitalizing the cooperative regional initiative between East Asia and Latin America, advance the institutionalization of the TITM Working Group, and nurture the next generation of FEALAC leaders. This event marks its second occurrence after the previous '2020 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better Connection.' This idea contest is being participated in by FEALAC Supporters, who have dedicated their efforts to enhance the visibility of FEALAC both domestically and internationally, and who have studied a range of cooperative initiatives and cases from FEALAC member countries. Above all, this year holds special value as they strive to identify methods to enhance the TITM cooperation projects for both East Asian and Latin American countries.

2022 FEALAC Talk Concert
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the FEALAC Cyber Secretariat and the FEALAC Supporters planned to hold the 2022 FEALAC Talk Concert with aims to promote public interest and understanding of the culture of Latin America. Since its start in 2020, it marks the 3rd FEALAC Talk Concert.

During the 9th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Dominican Republic, the Ministers recognized the need for enhancing visibility of FEALAC. In this vein, Republic of Korea and Cyber Secretariat have planned a Public Relations Program that can help advance the visibilities of FEALAC in Korea. The FEALAC Supporters program was first initiated in order to actualize an extensive promotion of FEALAC. In this sense, the FEALAC supporters program has served as an effective instrument to advertise the importance of cooperation between East Asia and Latin America and to increase the public awareness of FEALAC. FEALAC Supporters, comprised of university students who are interested in FEALAC regions, have carried out numerous public relations events to promote FEALAC to Korean public while publishing articles and videos online to increase the exposure of FEALAC in online platform. The FEALAC Supporters also created new social media accounts that are specifically targeted Korean public and produced items in Korean to facilitate the understanding the relevance of FEALAC.

Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for Better Connection
During the 9th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Dominican Republic, the Ministers recognized the need for revitalizing the institutional framework through a more dynamic cooperation and closer coordination amongst its working groups and projects to promote greater visibility of FEALAC1. In this context, the Republic of Korea along with the Cyber Secretariat held the “Voices of Young FEALAC” event, which is the presentation contest participating Korean university students to propose means and strategies to promote better cooperation between two regions and enhance the awareness of FEALAC. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recruited total of 13 teams (each team comprised of 2-3 people) who are interested in the cooperation between East Asia and Latin America, and assigned a theme of “discovering new ideas for FEALAC’s better connection and its cooperation projects” as a topic for their presentations. During the contest, participants presented creative and novel ideas for cooperation in diverse fields such as public health, climate change, infrastructure, education, cultural and people to people exchange.

The 2019 FEALAC TITM Seminar on Trade and SMEs
To maintain the positive momentum made at the most recent FEALAC FMM held in 2017 and to further promote cooperation among FEALAC member countries in a more internationalized and digitalized world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Argentine Republic will jointly host (TBC) the Seminar on Trade and SMEs – entitled “FEALAC’s Trade Facilitation in the context of the Digital Economy” – in Seoul this September. The Seminar seeks to find ways to improve regional connectivity among FEALAC member states and to nurture business capabilities of SMEs in a digital economy.

FEALAC Cyber Secretariat Youth Forum

FEALAC Seminar on Science and Technology Parks
As a part of the Korean government's effort to promote cooperation in science and technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Ministry of Knowledge and Industry will co-host the 2012 FEALAC Seminar on Science and Technology Parks(STP) to be held in Seoul from September 10-12, 2012. The Korean Government has the honor to invite all FEALAC member countries, United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean(ECLAC), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific(ESCAP) to participate in the seminar." Forum on Promotion of Traditional Sports 2011
At the IX Senior Officials' Meeting, sports were included in the former Working Group on Politics, Culture, Education (PCE) as a new field of cooperation (FMM/2010/3, para. 4). The member countries reached the consensus on the importance of sports as a useful means of strengthening cooperation in the framework of FEALAC. It has been widely recognized, as can be seen in the various activities carried out by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and CulturalO rganization(UNESCO) such as the Round table meetings on Traditional Sports and Game(TSG) that traditional sports plays an important role in promoting cultural diversity and preserving cultural identities at the local and national levels. Traditional sports also have a significant impact on national cohesion by fostering respect for the identities of communities from different cultural backgrounds. " " FEALAC enjoys a rich diversity of traditional sports. There exist more than 100 traditional sports among the member countries that have obtained world wide recognition. Promotion of development and exchanges of the traditional sports will contribute greatly in strengthening mutual understanding and friendly relations between FEALAC member countries." " The general objectives of the forum are as follows. The forum aims to facilitate creation of networks and deepen understanding of traditional sports of FEALAC countries by inviting policy makers and experts in traditional sports of member countries to the forum and sharing their situation and policies and private sectors' initiatives in the promotion of their traditional sports. 3rd FEALAC Expert Meeting on Current Issues - E-learning
Due to the success of the 2nd FEALAC Expert Meeting on Current Issues on e-Learningo rganized in 2010 and to the request of member countries, the Republic of Korea decided to repeat the National Project in 2011 ino rder to allow FEALAC member countries who could not attend the event in 2010 to participate in 2011.
