Sharing Thailand’s development experience through webinars
Initiated in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Thailand’s national project, titled “Sharing Thailand’s development experience through webinars” aims to provide holistic knowledge in development issues and tackle common challenges in travel distances and time differences in the FEALAC region through the provision of short-term webinar recordings from Thailand’s Annual International Training Courses (AITC), operated by Thailand International Development Agency (TICA). For 3 consecutive years, Thailand has been offering various AITC webinar recordings related to COVID-19 health measures and management, Public Health, Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), Climate Change and Environmental Issues, Agriculture and Food Security, and Others to all FEALAC member countries. This national project is not only a part of Thailand’s unceasing contribution to FEALAC but also another evidence of Thailand’s mission to strengthen the Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In continuation with our project in 2021, this year, Thailand is pleased to offer 5 recordings from 5 AITC webinars to FEALAC member countries in the following topics: 1. Practical Sustainable Technology as a Tool to Tackle the Climate Change (Faculty of Engineering, Chiangmai University) 2. Early Childhood Health Promotion and Health Care Management Beyond COVID-19 Era (Faculty of Nursing, Prince of Songkhla Univeristy) 3. Sustainable Forest for Poverty Reduction and Food Security in Thailand: “harmonizing local people and forests in the context of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” (Royal Forest Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) 4. The Next Normal with Sustainable Community-based Eco-tourism Development under 4P Model 2022 (Academic Service Center, Burapha University) 5. Food Safety Quality Infrastructure for Market Access for Developing countries (Mekong Institute) Therefore, Thailand wishes to invite all interested member countries to participate in this project and make use of the availability of knowledge in the above-mentioned webinar courses which contain important issues for advancing the FEALAC region and pusing forward FEALAC’s commitment towards the global development agenda.

In doing this, SEP has been a proven pathway to sustainable development which we share with several FEALAC member countries, namely Cambodia, Chile, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam.

The Objectives of the Program are: 1. To enhance knowledge and understanding on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and Sustainable Development, especially, in accordance to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) as well as relevant development concepts. 2. To develop the participants’ skill in applying SEP in multi-dimensional areas, namely, economic, social, and environment. 3. To support exchanging experiences on Sustainable Development in multi-dimensional areas among participants in terms of Knowledge Management (KM). 4. To encourage participants to apply knowledge, skill and experience acquired from the training to implement in their countries in terms of operational planning.

The Objectives of the Program are: This training course aims at sharing Thailand’s experiences in the application of community-based natural disaster management in situations, such as earthquake, tsunami, floods, landslides and sinking holes, both before and after the event. At the end of this course, participants are expected to; 1. Gain knowledge on natural disaster and risk management. 2. Understand how to create network among stakeholders in natural disaster preparedness and awareness in their countries. 3. Be able to develop relevant plans and policies to improve effectiveness of natural disaster and risk management of their respective countries.

The Fourth Workshop on Drug Law Enforcement Cooperation for FEALAC Countries
In accordance with the Manila Plan of Action to further enhance cooperation between member countries of FEALAC, and recognizing that illicit drugs must be confronted in order to secure the future of people of the two regions, three Workshops on Drug Law Enforcement Cooperation for FEALAC Countries were successfully organized in 2005, 2009 and 2013. FEALAC Friendship Schools Network
• The promotion of understanding, knowledge and awareness between the people of East Asia and Latin America are integral for FEALAC to move forward. • Youth in FEALAC member countries should be encouraged to create networks among themselves. • Using the existing global networks and technological advancement, FEALAC Friendship Schools Network can be commenced with an initial project at a low cost, but effectively. • UNESCO has established the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet) since 1953. ASPnet is now a global network of 10,000 educational institutions in 181 countries. Member institutions of ASPnet, work in support of international understanding, peace, intercultural dialogue, sustainable development and quality education in practice. FEALAC can utilize this program to advance bi-regional cooperation.

FEALAC Women Entrepreneurs' Network

The role of women today continues to significantly increase both in terms of financial support for their families and their contribution to overall economic growth. 2. The FEALAC Women Entrepreneurs’ Network will help provide a communicable channel for women entrepreneurs and related agencies of FEALAC member countries to share their best-practices and action plans for promoting women entrepreneurship. 3. Efforts of small and micro economic empowerment for women are considered essential and should not only been performed by the government but also managed by private sector and civil society or women organizations. Objectives To enhance/establish networking between member countries of FEALAC on women entrepreneurship Possible regional cooperative projects/activities i.e. organizing workshop on best practices of women empowerment in SME entrepreneurship Objectives of the workshop: 1) To create a regional forum for FEALAC women entrepreneurs to share information, knowledge and experience on policies, business environment, investment, and socio – political issues and their impacts on business opportunities; 2) To document best practices at FEALAC regional level on empowering small and medium economy for women, especially in terms of credit, marketing, and developing business innovation. 3) To initiate or recommend the establishment of women organizations and FEALAC regional micro credit institution forum in preparing and formulating materials necessary for policy action. 4) To formulate policies and for promoting women entrepreneurship in order to enhance women’s economic empowerment in micro and small enterprises. Buakaew International Roundtable 2011
Buakaew International Roundtable was first proposed by Thailand at FEALAC FMM II in Manila in January 2004 and o rganised annually since 2005. This program of study visits has so far welcomed representatives from various FEALAC member countries. It aims to strengthen relationships and to establish development and technical cooperation between officials of Thailand and Latin American countries with an emphasis on economy, sustainable development, community development, tourism and agriculture. This initiative was also designed to introduce Thailand???experiences and best practices in development which can be applied to other countries.
