Project Purpose & Description In accordance with the Manila Plan of Action to further enhance cooperation between member countries of FEALAC, and recognizing that illicit drugs must be confronted in order to secure the future of people of the two regions, three Workshops on Drug Law Enforcement Cooperation for FEALAC Countries were successfully organized in 2005, 2009 and 2013.
The objectives of the fourth Workshop are;
1. To exchange information of drug situation between FEALAC member countries
2. To provide opportunities for participants to observe drug suppression & interdiction in Thailand
3. To build up linkage and channel of cooperation in drug suppression between member countries
4. To exchange intelligence on drug trafficking syndicates and drug cases
5. To share experience in drug law enforcement and interdiction
Activity Description & Outcome Expected outcomes from the 6-day Workshop are;
1. Participants gain knowledge of drug situation and best practice on drug control
2. A list of focal points and contact persons for international drug suppression cooperation
3. Exchange of drug cases and intelligence
4. close cooperation in drug control among member countries
5. Future cooperation in or joint drug suppression operation
1. After the Workshop, participating countries should report their progress every 4 months by completing a report form and circulating it via email. The report should include (1) Drug situation (2) Activities done from the cooperation in drug control both in bilateral and multilateral cooperation (3) Future plan/activities in both bilateral and multilateral cooperation (4) Warning of situation or trend of drug trafficking/smuggling or drug related crimes.
