FEALAC members acknowledge that realizing gender equality and the empowerment of women will make a crucial contribution towards fostering growth and achieving sustainable development.
In FEALAC, the following topics are recognized as priorities for cooperation in respect to gender (Final report on the 1st CYGS WG meeting).
- FEALAC Women Entrepreneurs’ Network
- Effective implementation of laws and regulations on gender equality
- Containing gender violence
- Protecting women and children in migration, disaster and conflict situations
The FEALAC Women Entrepreneurs’ Network was first proposed by Thailand in 2014 and Argentina joined the initiative in 2015 as a coordinator for Latin America. Stressing the significance of women’s role in MSMEs and gender equality, this regional project aims to provide a communication channel for entrepreneur women and related agencies of FEALAC member countries to share their best practices and action plans for promoting women entrepreneurship.
