| Project Purpose & Description |
Given the interest of the members of the Forum for East Asia - Latin America Cooperation - (FEALAC) to discuss and develop multilateral cooperation initiatives in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation (ST & I), with emphasis in biotechnology and health, Brazil, in its position of co-Chairs of the Science, Technology Working Group, iso rganizing, in Rio de Janeiro, on November 2013, an !**!International Seminar on Biotechnology, Biomedicine and Life Sciences: current situation and joint cooperation perspectives among FEALAC countries!**!." The Seminar will bring together researchers, scientists and policymakers in Latin America and East Asia to share experiences on innovation systems in biotechnology and health. A group of selected countries, between four and six per region, will be invited to conduct presentations on aspects of their innovation systems in health, namely:" - Health industrial complex" - Pharmochemical sector, drugs and medicines" - Research and development on neglected diseases and" - Biomedicine and health (including bioinformatics, nanobiotechnology and biomaterials)."
