Project Purpose & Description |
Purpose: Participants will perfect the written and oral Spanish language within a short period of time and they will also gain knowledge about Mexican culture. Deion: Since 2008, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, through its Diplomatic Academy, the Matias Romero Institute, organizes a Spanish language course for foreign diplomats. This course has been designed and is given by specialized instructors at the Learning Center for Foreigners (CEPE) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) now for a period of two months. |

Activity Description & Outcome |
The Spanish course offers intensive practice in the Spanish language in the following four areas: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and speaking and writing abilities. The course on Mexican culture will introduce the participants to a mosaic of the most representative literary and artistic expressions throughout Mexico’s history. The course will teach foreign diplomats the Spanish spoken in Mexico so that they can have a better understanding of the country and a general overview of the national culture. The course will take place in Taxco, Guerrero. |
