FEALAC University Discovery Year (FUDY) 2026
The FEALAC University Discovery Year (FUDY) Programme welcomes semester exchange and short-term exchange students from FEALAC member country universities to apply to Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) to enroll in its non-graduating programmes. Motivated by FUDY, UBD signed a student exchange agreement with the Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) in 2016 which resulted in 5 Brazilian semester exchange students joining UBD in 2017 and 2018. In addition to semester exchanges under FUDY, UBD welcomes FEALAC member university students to join our short-term summer programme known as the Global Discovery Programme (GDP) which runs every year in June/July/August. The programme is credit bearing and is designed to offer international students an opportunity to experience student-life in this culture-rich kingdom, in an academic setting which is stimulating, challenging and progressive.

2025 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better TITM Connection
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, in its capacity as the Co-chair of the TITM Working Group (Trade, Investment, Tourism, MSMEs), is hosting the event titled '2025 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better TITM Connection,' in collaboration with the FEALAC Cyber Secretariat. The primary objectives of this event are to hear the voices from the FEALAC youth for revitalizing the cooperative regional initiative between East Asia and Latin America, advance the institutionalization of the TITM Working Group, and nurture the next generation of FEALAC leaders. This event marks its fourth occurrence after the previous '2024 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better SPCSDCC Connection', '2023 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better TITM Connection' and '2020 Voices of Young FEALAC: Ideas for a Better Connection.' This idea contest is being participated in by FEALAC Young Leaders, who have dedicated their efforts to enhance the visibility of FEALAC both domestically and internationally, and who have studied a range of cooperative initiatives and cases from FEALAC member countries. Above all, this year holds special value as they strive to identify methods to enhance the TITM cooperation projects for both East Asian and Latin American countries.

The "Bridge to the Future" Training Camp for Young Leaders from China and Latin America and the Caribbean was an initiative raised by the Chinese PSresident Xi Jinping during China-Latin America and the Caribbean Summit in 2014. It is hoped that the youth will serve as a bond to enhance mutual understanding and exchanges between the two regions.

CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN SCHOOL SPORTS GAMES, COLOMBIA 2025
The Central American and Caribbean School Sports Games are a multi-sport school event, held every two years in the cities of countries within the region comprising Central America and the Caribbean Sea basin. Its first edition was held in Salinas, Puerto Rico, from November 8 to 14, 2007. The holding of the VII Central American and Caribbean School Games in Colombia in 2025 is of great relevance for the region, as it strengthens integration and cooperation among the countries of Central America and the Caribbean. This multi-sport event, which is held every two years, brings together young athletes from various nations, promoting sports and cultural development in the region. In this context, the participation of Central American and Caribbean countries in these games is essential to promote youth talent and strengthen ties between nations with a tool such as sport as an agent of social transformation. It is very important to highlight that the selection of Colombia as the host country for the 2025 edition reflects the recognition of its organizational capacity and its commitment to school sports, which represent the future of the new generations. Likewise, under this project, it is planned to extend the invitation of nations from other regions such as New Zealand and Indonesia to participate in this regional sporting event with the purpose of enriching cultural and sporting diversity, offering young athletes the opportunity to compete with peers from different parts of the world and promoting ties of friendship, sporting exposure and international cooperation.

SPORTS EXCHANGE PROGRAMS FEALAC
This project primarily aims to organize sports exchanges among FEALAC countries. It will include knowledge exchange ranging from coaches to young athletes, defined as underage sports participants, generally teenagers between 15 and 18 years old. The goal is to share international experiences among FEALAC members. The project will be developed in two phases. The first phase will promote sports exchange through the disciplines of skating and rugby. This initial phase is proposed to be carried out in Colombia. The second phase will continue the sports exchange in FEALAC member countries interested in hosting delegations in skating, rugby, or other sports such as badminton and football. The objective is for FEALAC member countries with strong traditions in these disciplines to share their expertise through training sessions, matches, friendly activities, seminars, and cultural visits. This will enrich all participants and enhance the sports benefits of each delegation, leveraging the high-level capabilities found in countries with strong rugby backgrounds such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and in Latin America—Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil. ________________________________________ How Will the Project Be Carried Out? Phase 1: Exchange in Colombia We will host international delegations from FEALAC to share experiences, training sessions, and competitions with young FEALAC athletes (4 rugby coaches and 8 skating athletes). Activities will include skating clinics, rugby training, technical seminars for coaches, and friendly matches. Phase 2: Exchange in a country to be defined In this second phase, the Colombian delegation and others interested in participating in the project will take part in practices and matches in countries that are leaders in the aforementioned sports disciplines (1 rugby team with their rugby coaches). The aim is for these host countries to be global leaders in sports such as rugby and skating. Where Will the Project Take Place? In Colombia: Activities will mainly take place in Ibagué, the capital city of the department of Tolima. All sports activities will be held at the Sports Center of the City of Ibagué. The delegation will also visit the city of Ambalema, located two hours from Ibagué, and participate in cultural and sports activities with local youth athletes. Finally, the delegation will travel to the city of Paipa, located in the department of Boyacá, known for producing athletes and for its beautiful landscapes and cultural activities. In a FEALAC Member Country (to be defined): The Colombian delegation, or any other delegation interested in the project, will travel to a FEALAC member country with a strong tradition in the mentioned sports disciplines. These exchanges will also include visits to high-performance training centers and participation in cultural activities. When Will the Project Take Place? The project will be implemented in two phases during the years 2025 and 2026: • Colombian Phase 1: Scheduled for the second half of 2025, with a 14-day visit by the international delegation to Colombia. • Phase 2: In the first half of 2026, the Colombian (or participating) delegation will travel for a 14-day sports exchange to the selected FEALAC member country. Who Will Participate in the Project? • International Delegation: Coaches and young athletes from FEALAC member countries, accompanied by their technical and organizational teams. • Colombian Delegation: Young athletes and coaches from Colombia’s skating and rugby leagues. • Organizers: The project will be coordinated by the Ministry of Sport of Colombia, the Government of Tolima, INDEPORTES Tolima, the Municipality of Ibagué, the Colombian Rugby Federation, the Tolima Rugby League, the Tolima Skating League, and the Corficolombiana Foundation, along with international counterparts from other countries interested in participating in the project.

This project aims to contribute to the strengthening of teacher training and professional development processes for Spanish language educators in Asian contexts, through an academic proposal that integrates language instruction with a comprehensive perspective on the linguistic and cultural diversity of Latin America. Within the framework of the Master's Program in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign and Second Language at the Instituto Caro y Cuervo —a postgraduate program that has been a leader in training teachers and researchers in this field from a critical and Latin American perspective—this initiative proposes the development of a specialized training space aimed at Asian educators interested in deepening their knowledge in key areas such as Spanish as a foreign language pedagogy, the linguistic varieties of Latin American Spanish, and Latin American culture. This initiative reflects the Caro y Cuervo Institute's institutional commitment to the international promotion of the Spanish language and Hispanic American cultures, and also seeks to strengthen academic and interinstitutional cooperation between Colombia and Asian countries. The project's activities will take place in person at the Institute’s headquarters, located in the historic center of Bogotá, a city that offers a rich cultural and academic environment ideal for language immersion and intercultural exchange.

Train-the-Trainer program: Arts for Peace
Colombia's Presidential Program, Arts for Peace, tackles the deep societal scars left byconflict and inequality, particularly in marginalized rural communities. Recognizing the transformative power of art, this program invests in arts education as a cornerstone of peacebuilding and reconciliation. By providing access to quality education and opportunities for youth, it aims to break cycles of poverty and exclusion, fostering a more hopeful future. In 2024, the "Sounds for Peacebuilding" presidential program made a transformative impact on Colombia by promoting cultures of peace through artistic and musical education. Benefiting over 300,000 children and youth in 1,590 educational institutions, the program prioritized historically marginalized regions affected by conflict. By dignifying the role of heritage experts and music teachers, providing musical instruments to 500 public schools, and engaging more than a million people in awareness-raising activities, it fostered cultural diversity, coexistence, and access to cultural rights across 687 municipalities nationwide. Looking ahead to 2025, the program evolves into Arts for Peace, expanding its scope to include additional artistic disciplines such as dance, literature, poetry, and film. This new phase aims to engage countries worldwide, especially those in FOCALAE, by training trainers who utilize arts education to promote peacebuilding in communities affected by violence. Through this approach, the initiative seeks to strengthen the capacities of artists and arts educators and expand its impact globally. By encouraging creativity and expression through various artistic languages, the program seeks to deepen its contribution to community development and expand international cultural partnerships in the arts and culture sector. FEALAC Journalists' Visit Program: Indonesia 2025
FEALAC JVP: Indonesia 2025 aims to enhance second-track diplomacy and collaboration between FEALAC Member countries, particularly between journalists from both regions, as well as introducing Indonesia's advances in various sectors.
