Project Purpose & Description

●Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is pleased to add a new component under FUDY for 2017/2018 (August 2017 to July 2018) - we welcome Latin American university students to join us for our 4-week credit bearing Global Discovery Programme (GDP), in addition to our regular semester exchange. Dates and e-flyer attached to this form.

●The FEALAC University Discovery Year (FUDY) is an initiative by Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) offering waived tuition fees for students from universities in Latin America to join UBD on exchange for either semester exchange (up to 2 semester or 1 academic year) or for short-term exchange (our four-week summer Global Discovery Programme).

1.Semester Exchange - This runs for two semesters each academic year, August to December and January to May. Tuition fees will be waived but students have to pay for their own return airfare, health and travel insurance and living expenses such as accommodation, meals and transport while in UBD.

2.Global Discovery Programme (GDP) - This is a short-term (4 weeks) summer programme which is run three times a year - February, July, August. It offers students a chance to enroll in UBD’s flagship GDP Discover Brunei Course which is an exciting 4-week credit-bearing summer programme combining intellectually stimulating lectures and workshops by renowned academics in their fields with excursions and experiential learning as well as cultural and immersion activities centered around a Discover Brunei theme. Tuition fees of USD1,000 per student will be waived under FUDY. Students only have to pay the programme fee of USD1,500 per student covering four weeks of on-campus accommodation, 3 meals a day, airport transfer, local transport costs, excursion to neighbouring Malaysia and visa fee. Excludes return airplane ticket and compulsory travel and health insurance.
