Education

FEALAC members recognize that education is one of the best means of empowering people and promoting economic growth and development. Accordingly, FEALAC acknowledges the importance of having better and greater opportunities to access education in member countries.

One of FEALAC’s iconic project in the fields of education is the FEALAC University Network. This regional project was proposed by Brazil in 2011 on the occasion of the 5th Foreign Ministers meeting, and Thailand joined the initiative later in 2014 as a coordinator for East Asia. The FEALAC University Network has aims to develop and expand the network of key universities in East Asia and Latin America, and to build academic links and promote student exchange and cooperation, including think-tanks, research centers, scholars, teachers, and students to deepen understanding between the two regions.
