II. Executive Summary

Project Purposes
The Central American and Caribbean School Sports Games are a multi-sport school event, held every two years in the cities of countries within the region comprising Central America and the Caribbean Sea basin. Its first edition was held in Salinas, Puerto Rico, from November 8 to 14, 2007.

The holding of the VII Central American and Caribbean School Games in Colombia in 2025 is of great relevance for the region, as it strengthens integration and cooperation among the countries of Central America and the Caribbean. This multi-sport event, which is held every two years, brings together young athletes from various nations, promoting sports and cultural development in the region.

In this context, the participation of Central American and Caribbean countries in these games is essential to promote youth talent and strengthen ties between nations with a tool such as sport as an agent of social transformation. It is very important to highlight that the selection of Colombia as the host country for the 2025 edition reflects the recognition of its organizational capacity and its commitment to school sports, which represent the future of the new generations.

Likewise, under this project, it is planned to extend the invitation of nations from other regions such as New Zealand and Indonesia to participate in this regional sporting event with the purpose of enriching cultural and sporting diversity, offering young athletes the opportunity to compete with peers from different parts of the world and promoting ties of friendship, sporting exposure and international cooperation.
Activity Description
The Central American and Caribbean School Sports Games are a multi-sport event that brings together young athletes of school age from Central American and Caribbean countries. Its main objective is to encourage the development of school sports, promote regional integration and strengthen values such as companionship, respect and discipline through sports.

Main characteristics of the event:

* Participation of young athletes: Focuses on school level students, generally between the ages of 12 and 17.
* Diversity of sports disciplines: Includes sports such as athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, soccer, chess, among others.
* Promotion of cultural exchange: The games are not only a sporting competition, but also allow interaction between young people from different nations, promoting integration and cultural understanding.
* This event is a key platform for the training of future high-performance athletes, as many participants continue their careers in major competitions, such as the Central American and Caribbean Games, the Pan American Games and, in some cases, the Olympic Games.

In 2025, Colombia will host these games, which represents a great opportunity for the country to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the organization of school sports events and in the development of youth talent in the region.
