Project Purpose & Description |
Japanese government has implemented FEALAC young leaders invitation program from 2001. The purpose of this program is to deepen mutual understandings among young leader of FEALAC member countries and to learn about certain topics which contribute addressing common challenges that we share. |

Activity Description & Outcome |
In 2016, Japanese government invited 12 young government officials from FEALAC member countries such as Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Australia, Philippines, Republic of Korea and Thailand. The theme of this stay was technologies and methods to reduce the risk of natural disasters. As a country that has passed through many natural disasters, we shared our experiences and lessons with the invited young leaders. The participants highly evaluated the stay in Japan and concluded that this program would contribute improving the vulnerability to natural disasters in their respective countries. |
