"The integrated approach includes the use of resistance genes, seed disinfection, and cultural control practices. Regarding resistance genes, the project will identify resistance genes and develop resistant wheat varieties by introducing these genes through crossbreeding. Furthermore, functional analysis of resistance genes will be conducted, and genetic engineering will be employed to create resistance genes that remain effective in susceptible spikes and under high-temperature conditions associated with global warming. For seed disinfection, a method combining fungicides and resistance-inducing agents will be developed to ensure long-lasting disinfection effects. In terms of cultural control, genome analysis and pathogenicity tests of wheat blast fungi sampled from fields will be performed to elucidate the transmission cycle of the pathogen and analyze the durability of resistance genes, ultimately proposing a field management model. The completed integrated control manual will be disseminated to farmers, and resistant varieties and cultural control methods will be gradually introduced even after the research concludes.* *Note: Cultural control refers to methods that suppress the occurrence of pests and diseases by adjusting cultivation practices, varieties, and environmental conditions."
