Project Purpose & Description |
International Asia Pacific Chair (CIAP) Its purpose is to promote knowledge, discussion and formative research about relevant topics related to Asia Pacific, as a contribution to the study of international relations. This, with the objective of contributing to the systematization of the heritage of useful knowledge and information to be used in both, teaching and research. It is with the above that CIAP devotes itself to favor the deepening of the Asia Pacific studies. At the same time, it promotes the learning of different languages, as well as teachers, students and researchers interchanges as part of the cultural and social approach to the Asian region. It also fosters presentations, formative research, on-line courses and special guests lectures, whose discourses are gathered and then copied into specific publications that may allow to create webs and links with specialized centers in Asia Pacific and Latin America. Currently, there are more than 20 research papers compiled in two publications. |

Activity Description & Outcome |
2 stays for researchers from Asia and Guatemala, per year, in mutual interchange. Teachers mutual yearly interchange, especially from the Political Science and International Relations fields 4 students mutual yearly interchange, especially from the Political Science and International Relations fields. 2 yearly academic publications, 1 per semester. At least one teacher’s yearly interchange in a language learning program (including Spanish). |
