II. Executive Summary
Project Purposes
Latin American left-wing parties have met with difficulties and unprecedented challenges in their socialist exploration and practice. We shall explain the theories and practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics, especially new development of the socialism with Chinese characteristics since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, depict the “New Normal” economy in China, introduce the 13th Five Year Plan and Chinese promising economic prospect, review the G20 Summit and President Xi’s upcoming visit to Latin America. Mr. Zhou Li, then Vice Minister of the International Department of CPC, met the delegates, and Experts from NDRC introduced the economy situation in China.
Activity Description
The delegates attended the seminars of Socialism Theory and Practice, Challenge and Prospect in Latin America and Wan Shou Forum of 21st Socialism Characteristics and Prospect in Latin America in Beijing, and inspected grass-roots party's construction and social and economic situation in Jiangxi and Guangdong Province.
Outcomes
The Latin American left-wing parties had in-depth discussions on how to construct socialism and what kind of socialism they would construct, in the hope of improving their governing competence. They have got a deeper understanding of China, and increased their confidence in the prospect of future cooperation between China and their parties and think-tanks.
