II. Executive Summary

Project Purposes
The contest seeks to generate marine awareness in the students in regards to the marine
debris problem, and the mechanisms for its reutilization, thus turning the problem into a
practical and environmentally friendly solution.
Activity Description

Outcomes
The competition (essays) to create awareness marine in students. Based on:
OReutilization (for example bricks, synthetic oil, etc.)
Ο Recycling: To use a substance/material again for the same/or another industrial
process.
OFinal disposal: Burning, landfill, etc.
O Prevention and public awareness.
Next Steps
Ecuador is planning several meetings with the South Pacific Permanent CommissionCPPS to update the project towards to it's application.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility will coordinate future actions.
